Grab your chalk - it's time to demand better roads

Here's your chance to have your say on Australia's worst roads - literally.

NRMA Motoring & Services is presenting a unique new initiative that will allow motorists to write messages to politicians in chalk on the roads.

'Have Your Say on Roads' will kick off in Parramatta on Wednesday, July 24, and will be a fantastic opportunity for locals to express their opinions on the state of Sydney's roads.

Wendy Machin, president of NRMA Motoring & Services, will collate the results and reveal which roads in Sydney and across the state were voted the worst.

The event is in support of the AAA's ongoing Demand Better Roads campaign, which strives to make road safety a priority in the government's agenda.

Ms Machin will also be on hand at Wednesday's event to discuss issues such as NRMA's Seeing Red on Roads survey, which also aims to address drivers' concerns about road safety.

All fleet managers will no doubt be aware of the crucial role that road quality can play in driver safety and fleet maintenance.

Here is your drivers' chance to have their voices heard along with 10,000 other drivers.

The event will be held at 11:45 am at Barrack Lane, Parramatta (off George Street).

Following the event in Parramatta, there will be further chalk petitions at locations around NSW and the ACT.

If your drivers can't be there in person to have their say, NRMA's Facebook page also provides a forum for them to vent their frustrations.

Good quality roads are a critical factor in keeping your vehicles in top shape, so while Australia is demanding better roads from the government, you may also want to look at investing in a reputable fleet management program.
