NRMA announces Australia's best cars

Finding the "best car" isn't easy. Fleet managers are challenged when looking into procuring a new vehicle to find a make and model that will offer safety, reliability and economy.

The National Roads and Motorists' Association (NRMA) has gone some way to helping make the decision a little simpler with the recent release of its Australia's Best Car awards for 2014.

In October, the NRMA released the list of finalists judges would use to decide their winners for 2014's prestigious award.

Expert judges from some of Australia's most notable auto clubs chose their best vehicles of this year, with 220 cars being boiled down to 16 winners across a range of categories.

"Factors such as running and repair costs, fuel consumption, depreciation and safety were all taken into consideration when selecting the winners," the NRMA explained as it announced the results online.

"The result is a definitive guide to buying the best new cars of the year. Whether you're looking for a micro city car, a sports car or a dual cab ute, Australia's Best Cars Awards will help ensure you make an informed decision when you buy your next car."
